About The Role
The Trial Technology Consultant will be responsible for consulting with attorneys on presentation technology and trial-data management in courtrooms and similar settings. They organize and run attorney presentations, and coordinate all systems, databases and equipment related to visual presentation of FTI’s graphics, deposition videos, and documents at trials, hearings, and focus groups. All of this is done while managing and exceeding client expectations. Our technology consultants (EPE) sometimes referred to as “hot seat” operators specialize in a wide range of presentation technology and audio visual skills, as well as the presentation of evidence and demonstratives in the courtroom. Our consultants work hand in hand with the best litigation teams around the world to ensure that the legal team is presenting the best, most clear and most persuasive arguments on behalf of their clients.
What You’ll Do
- Consulting and management of the entire technological process from pre-trial drafting of battle plan through execution in the courtroom. Successful candidates will have deep technical experience, and ideally litigation work experience, though the latter is not required
- Provide superior, industry-leading client service
- Directly control courtroom evidence presentation for FTI clients using industry standard software
- Consult with attorneys and staff in the war room to prepare electronic courtroom presentations that support opening & closing statements and witness examinations
- Manage video deposition databases, including editing designations, producing playlist reports, linking exhibits to testimony and playing video in the courtroom
- Plan, set-up and maintain courtroom and war room equipment during trial, including audio-visual equipment
- Provide on-site client support 75% of the time at trial locations to support war room and courtroom efforts
- Serve as liaison with opposing counsel’s technology consultant regarding courtroom equipment sharing

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in client service industries
- Demonstrable advanced computer and technology skill-set
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite; especially MS Power Point
- Ability to provide efficient and effective problem-solving solutions and service in demanding, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills, reliability, organization skills, timeliness and the ability to operate independently
- Extremely detail oriented with the self-discipline to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Ability to dress in professional attire for onsite engagements
- Light to moderate lifting (10 – 50 lbs)
- Ability to undertake extensive travel, sometimes at short notice, to clients and FTI office(s) as needed (~75% US domestic with some international travel)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (non-traditional hours)
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and other applicable Creative Cloud applications
- Familiarity with courtroom presentation software such as TrialDirector and OnCue
- Intermediate video editing skills required
- Advanced ability to support and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, printers, and networks
